Do Sports and be a Better Person

Sport is an activity involving physical effort and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

We might think that playing sports is a waste of time and a distraction but it is actually the opposite.

Involvement in sports is extremely important and should be encouraged more among students. Children and young people mainly need to play sports so that they develop good behavior that they can continue into adulthood. The main payback of sports is improved health and fitness, and the growth of social and communication skills. People that play sports on a regular basis are burning more calories than those who don't, and are, as a result, less likely to end up overweight. Being healthy means that you will be less likely to die young and experience heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure, diabetes and a variety of other conditions. Additionally, if you already eat well, it can give you more calorie allowance so you can treat yourself without feeling guilty about it.

In addition to improving cardiovascular health and fitness, exercising is also good for the musculoskeletal system, making muscles suppler and toned, and improving the strength of bones and joints. People who play sports will be stronger and more able to lift and carry heavy things, which is also always useful, and they are less likely to become really weak and weak as they get older because their bodies are strong. Also, playing sports can improve mental health as well as physical health, with exercise being useful for people with depression and a series of other mental health issues, because it releases good chemicals into our brains. Sports also makes people feel better about their bodies, which can make them happier, and reduces the risk of eating disorders and crash dieting, as people make wiser, healthy changes to their lifestyle.

Furthermore, sport allows people to develop personally. Social and communication skills can be learned and developed through the sports. The teamwork for instance, is naturally learned through participating in group activities. Communication skills can really be honed, as they are at the heart of any team's success. One can learn how to cooperate with the others, share positive emotions and work on the negative ones. In addition, people may develop leadership skills through sports, frequently discovering abilities that they never knew about. They learn how to motivate and inspire each other. It is a very precious lesson one can have when involved in any sport activities. A lot of people's self-esteem improves through sports as they find out things that they are good at. Participating in any competitive sports also improves our ability to handle strain and still perform well, as well as it teaches us how to win and lose graciously. On the whole, the fact that playing sports is good for us is completely unquestionable, because it helps our minds and bodies, and finally means that we will be living with longer, happier lives.
