For the spirit of togetherness, SUC organized a sports fiesta for the faculty and staff on January 31, 2019. The employees played tug of war, volleyball and badminton.
This employee engagement activity is an initiative of SUC’s Human Resource Department to bring fun and cultivate camaraderie among employees.

The 3rd Edition of the Diplomat Cricket Championship Cup 2019 has begun! The Sri Lanka Cricket Team takes on the team from South Africa in the first game.
The Diplomat Cricket Championship Cup is hosted by Skyline University under the patronage of the Consulate General of India (CGI). Seven teams representing the Consulate of India, Consulate of South Africa, Consulate of Bangladesh, Consulate of United States of America, Consulate of Sri Lanka, Consulate of Afghanistan, and Consulate of Pakistan will face off until February 2 for the Diplomat Cricket Championship.

To equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for them to succeed in the professional world, SUC invites industry experts and business professionals. On January 24, 2019, Dr. Sharon Mendoza Dreisbach invited Business Director Ms. Preeti Khanna to talk about the UAE labor law to her students. Ms. Khanna is a Canadian Certified Human Resources Professional with International and Middle East Management experience.
As an appreciation to their engaging talk, Dr, Ajith Kumar, the Head of Academics – Business, presented the guests with tokens of appreciation.

SUC participated in the 15th International Education Show held at Sharjah Expo Centre from January 30, 2019 until February 1, 2019. H.E. Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Seaports & Customs, Sharjah Airport International Free Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority visited Skyline University College Stand #230.
Skyline University College (SUC) organized the 13th edition of its CEO Lecture Series on January 28, 2019 with HE Dr. Rashid Alleem, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority (SEWA) and CEO of Alleem Knowledge Center as the keynote speaker. HE Dr. Rashid Alleem is ranked third among the 25 most influential CEOs in GCC and is considered one of the 100 most influential CEOs in the Middle East.
College is a journey unlike any other – it can be exciting and exhausting, happy and lonely, fun and nerve-wracking. Here at Skyline, we do our best to give students the best learning experience by focusing not only on their academic growth, but also on their social and life skills development. Right from the beginning, we want them to associate fun with learning. So SUC, spearheaded by the Events Committee, welcomed the freshmen with several exciting activities like pop quiz and Tambola on January 24, 2019. To cap off the evening activities, everyone enjoyed Middle Eastern dishes.

On January 22, 2019, Mr. Samir Sahid, CEO of Alliot UAE and Ms. Catherine Ordonez-Rivera, a Corporate Human Resources Manager in one of the biggest ready-mix companies in the Gulf, were invited as guest lecturers in the Business Management classes of Dr. Sharon Mendoza and Dr. Hassan Al-Dhaafri. Mr. Sahid and Ms. Rivera talked about the employment laws and regulations in the UAE. Starting university can be an exciting experience, but it can also be nerve-wracking. To welcome the students, help them settle into college life, and introduce them to the Skyline way of life, SUC’s Event Committee prepared various activities.
On their first day at SUC, the freshmen gained useful insights about Skyline and learned resources that they can use in their academic journey. SUC Dean Prof. Mohammad In’airat conducted an orientation focusing on the infrastructure, learning support services, and the things that make SUC unique. Dr. Osama Ali Thawabeh, Director of Student Services, discussed the flexible schedule and the assistance that SUC offers to students. Mr. Firoj Rauta, Head of Computing Services, conducted an orientation on SUC’s online portal.

The value of employee engagement can’t be understated. It improves productivity and efficiency in the workplace. SUC’s Human Resource Department (HRD) aims to drive employee engagement by organizing various enjoyable activities.
On January 17, 2019, the HRD held a cricket match for faculty members and staff. Through this activity, SUC aims to improve employee engagement and strengthen collaboration and a sense of camaraderie among its teams.
Skyline University College, in collaboration with MSF or Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) and Missing Maps Team, successfully organized a session of the first Mapathon in the UAE on January 13, 2019. The volunteers from SUC and other organizations added 553 building and roads in the map of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This humanitarian project expanded SUC’s community service efforts internationally and exposed IT students to new tools. This also served as an opportunity for all volunteers to be part of a noble cause.
