The executives of Skyline University College visited the Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, H.E. Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, on September 11, 2019. Mr. Nitin Anand, the Chairman of the Executive Council of Skyline, and Mr. Firas Al Tabbaa, SUC Deputy Director for the Government and Public Relations, updated His Excellency about the programs offered by SUC under its School of Business and School of IT. SUC also discussed possibilities of conducting workshops and training sessions for Sharjah Economic Development Department.
SUC continuously strengthen its alliance and partnerships with government and private sectors so it can provide better support and assistance to various communities outside the academe.
Skyline University College conducted the SCTDA (Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority) Advanced Tour Guide Training Program from July 18 to 20, 2019 at SUC Campus. The workshop was attended by participants of various professions such as entrepreneurs, dentists, and mechanical engineers in addition to being a licensed your guide.
The program serves as a platform for tour guides having license from other emirates to promote Sharjah tourism. The training aims to update the participants’ knowledge about Sharjah destinations and enhance their tour guiding skills.
In this 3-day SCTDA Advanced Tour Guide Training Program, Skyline faculty members — Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Dr. Ajith Kumar, and Ms. Rouba Dbouk — gave sessions on various topics that include Embrace Tourism, Golden History of Sharjah, Smile while you are in Sharjah, and sustainable tourism initiatives in the emirate. The workshop concluded with a guided tour at the Heart of Sharjah.
Skyline University College conducted a 6 day Women Empowerment Training Program (Al Jawhara), which is one of the initiatives of SCTDA (Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority) in collaboration with NAMA, a public non-profit organization for the advancement of women. As part of the program, 30 Emirati women who are fresh graduates were trained in the areas of tourism which will increase the number of women in this sector. The workshops focused on tourism, women entrepreneurship, career path, and harnessing soft skills, among others. SUC faculty members Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Dr. Ajith Kumar, Dr. Kakul Agha, Dr. Sharon Mendoza, Ms. Nadine Felix conducted the sessions during the program. Mr. Anesh Matthew gave a first aid and safety training to the participants.
The tourism sector has strong links to economic growth. It creates opportunities for employment and career advancement. On that note, SUC creates a platform for professionals to acquire knowledge and skills relevant to the industry through workshops.
SUC’s Tourism industry experts, Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Professor and SUC’s Director of Outreach and Accreditation Planning Committee, and Dr. Mohit Vij, Associate Professor, conducted a workshop on Edu-Tourism and its potential in Sharjah. The participants shared new ideas and insights about the industry and emerging trends. This session, which is part of a series of workshops on travel and tourism, welcomed participants from Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).
Mr. Nitin Anand Executive Director and Chair of the Executive Council of Skyline University College received the prestigious Excellence Award at Forbes Top 100 Indian Leaders Award on behalf of Mr. Kamal Puri - Chairman Skyline Goup & Founder President Skyline University College . The award was given to recognize the passion, contribution and the impact of Indian leaders and industry experts on the advancement of the Arab region. The impressive awarding ceremony was hosted on July 3, 2019, at Versace Palazzo.
Skyline University College aims to impart knowledge to the community outside of the university by conducting training and workshops to various organizations. Recently, faculty members Dr. Beenu Mago and Dr. John Senior conducted Teachers' Training sessions at Providence English School, Sharjah, with 45 teacher participants.
Dr. Mago spoke about emerging technologies and Dr. Senior talked about the technology to supplement teaching.

Skyline University College conducted a fire drill to demonstrate the readiness of an emergency response plan on May 28, 2019. The students, faculty, and staff were lead to the fire exits of the building and instructed in the proper use of fire safety equipment.

During the 10th Alumni Lecture, Ms. Nour Al Moukaden (batch 2011), Business Development Director, gave an insightful discussion on passion and how it can guide you to achieve success. Skyline’s Alumni Lecture Series is a platform for Skyliners who are now working in various sectors to share their perspectives and experiences of the professional world.

The Hilton Group recently held a career guidance activity at Skyline campus. Students learned the techniques of writing an effective resume at the resume building workshop conducted by the group. They also learned some tips on how to make a great impression during job interviews.
This career guidance activity is regularly organized by Skyline Corporate Affairs Office, headed by Mr. Mohammad Rasheed Khalid, as part of Skyline’s goal of giving students full support during their career planning and placement preparation. Skyline invites professionals from various industries for these workshops so students are exposed to various perspectives and strategies that can prepare them for the corporate world.

In commemoration of the holy month of Ramadan, strengthen the spirit of community, and express its gratitude to the organizations and the people who have put their faith in the university’s vision, mission, and goals, Skyline University College hosted Suhoor for business associates, diplomats, government officials, corporates, and friends from the media at Al Majlis Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai on May 11, 2019, where guests enjoyed true Arabian hospitality and indulged in Middle-Eastern cuisine and music.

Samata Gifty Bukari; and Consul General of Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Amjad Ali; Consul General of South Africa H.E. Mr Mogobo David Magabe; Consul General and Head of Mission at Consulate General of Denmark, H.E. Jens Alsbirk; Consul General of Indonesia, H.E. Arzaf F. Firman, Consul General of Nigeria, H.E. Abu S. Mohammed; and Head of International Relations in Palestinian Consulate, Ms. Amnah Al Hamadi; Also present were leaders from various industries such as the CEO of Sharjah Technology Park Center H.E. Hussain Al Mahmoudi and government officials including the Director of International Relations - Ministry of Economy, Mr. Sultan Darwish; the Director of Training in the Government of Umm al Quwain Executive Council, Mr. Bassam Naser; The Office Manager of H.E. the Chief Commander of Umm Al Quwain Police, First Colonel Khalifa al Shamsi; the Deputy Director of Ajman Police Operation Department, First Colonel Khalid al Nuaimi; and the Office Manager of Sheikha Boudour Al Qasimi, Ms. Thuria Al Sabri.
Six schools competed for the Interschool Debate organized by The Filipino Times and the Philippine Consulate General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates and held at Skyline University College today.
The participating schools include Al Alfiah Filipino Private School, New Filipino Private School, The Philippine School Dubai, United International Private School, as well as two campuses of Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahbah and Al Azra).
The Philippine School, Dubai emerged as the winner and Far Eastern Private School – Al Azra was ranked 2nd. The Interschool Debate showcased the intellectual prowess of students through public speaking.
