SUC Conducts Pocket MBA

Skyline University College cultivates a lifelong learning mindset in students. It encourages them to pursue education after their undergraduate studies. It also provides workshops to develop their skills so they can thrive in the globalized world.

Recently, SUC held a Pocket MBA at the campus for its alumni and graduating students to enhance their skills and equip them with knowledge on the emerging trends in management, investment decisions, and techniques for optimal allocation of resources. SUC faculty members Dr. Sakthivel A.M., Dr. Ramakrishna Yanamandra, and Dr. Manuel Fernandez who conducted the workshops also introduced them to the different career opportunities open for MBA graduates

SUC Staff Welcome Party Fall AY 2019-2020

Being happy and engaged at work matter. For the Human Resource Department (HRD) of Skyline, keeping employees engaged and happy plays a valuable role in the overall success of the university. As part of its employee engagement programs, HRD took the employees on a cruising adventure last Thursday where they enjoyed the best view of Dubai’s skyline and got the chance to socialize and build camaraderie.

The SUC also hosted a party for the August birthday celebrants where everyone enjoyed food and dancing.

SUC Signs an MOU with Shoolini University, India

Skyline University College (SUC) established a knowledge partnership with Shoolini University, India, which was made official through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing on August 27, 2019, in India. The MOU establishes cooperation in research, education, and culture between the educators and students of the two universities.

Professor Prem Kumar Khosla, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, SUC Director of Outreach and Accreditation, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. This MOU signing was initiated by Dr. Upadhya with the assistance of SUC’s Corporate Affairs Office (CAO) headed by Mr. Rasheed Muhammad Khalid.

SUC Conducts "To Change the Gear Workshop"

In line with its goal of preparing students to be ready for the technology-driven future, Skyline University College has organized “To Change the Gear” workshop. This workshop is part of SUC’s CSR initiatives to equip the young generation with knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the world which is becoming more interconnected. 

On July 29, Dr.Ramakrishna and Dr. Sakthivel gave sessions on Emerging Trends in Operations & Marketing and  Dr. Deepak Kalra gave the second session on Block Chain Technologies and Internet of Things. The Event concluded with the certificate distribution to the participants.

SUC Conducts SCTDA Advanced Tour Guide Training Program

Skyline University College conducted the SCTDA (Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority) Advanced Tour Guide Training Program from July 18 to 20, 2019 at SUC Campus. The workshop was attended by participants of various professions such as entrepreneurs, dentists, and mechanical engineers in addition to being a licensed your guide.

The program serves as a platform for tour guides having license from other emirates to promote Sharjah tourism. The training aims to update the participants’ knowledge about Sharjah destinations and enhance their tour guiding skills.

In this 3-day SCTDA Advanced Tour Guide Training Program, Skyline faculty members — Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Dr. Ajith Kumar, and Ms. Rouba Dbouk — gave sessions on various topics that include Embrace Tourism, Golden History of Sharjah, Smile while you are in Sharjah, and sustainable tourism initiatives in the emirate. The workshop concluded with a guided tour at the Heart of Sharjah.

SUC Conducts 'To Change The Gear Workshop'

In line with its goal of preparing students to be ready for the technology-driven future, Skyline University College has organized “To Change the Gear” workshop. On July 22, Dr. Kakul Agha and Dr. Petr Svoboda gave sessions on management and entrepreneurship. This July 29, 2019, join the last day of the workshop at SUC Multipurpose Hall!

SUC Organizes Staff Sports Fest

Skyline University College focuses on employee engagement and well-being. On that note, the Sports Department, headed by Mr. Sanjay Benjamin, organized a sports fest for the employees on July 17, 2019. The faculty and staff competed in various sports — table tennis, carom, chess, billiards, target shooting, skipping competition, and tug of war.


By regularly organizing activities that boost awareness of being physically and mentally fit, employee engagement, Skyline cultivates the spirit of unity among employees and promotes teamwork.

SUC Conducts a 6 day Women Empowerment Training Program

Skyline University College conducted a 6 day Women Empowerment Training Program (Al Jawhara), which is one of the initiatives of SCTDA (Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority) in collaboration with NAMA, a public non-profit organization for the advancement of women. As part of the program, 30 Emirati women who are fresh graduates were trained in the areas of tourism which will increase the number of women in this sector. The workshops focused on tourism, women entrepreneurship, career path, and harnessing soft skills, among others. SUC faculty members Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Dr. Ajith Kumar, Dr. Kakul Agha, Dr. Sharon Mendoza, Ms. Nadine Felix conducted the sessions during the program. Mr. Anesh Matthew gave a first aid and safety training to the participants.

Skyline Conducts Student Seminar on Business and Economics

Skyline University College conducted a seminar on “Business and Economics” on July 15, 2019. The participants presented on various topics such as the impact of technology on higher education, societal marketing, women entrepreneurship, effective communication, and real estate in Dubai, among others. 

Mahek Ranpura was declared the Best Presenter and Mir Arafat was declared the Second Best Presenter, both students were supervised by Dr. J. Shanmugan. Mohammad Wasim, supervised by Dr. Haitham Alzoubi, won third place. 

This student seminar was organized by Dr. Gouher Ahmed, SUC's Chair of the Research Committee, with an aim of improving students' academic presentation skills.

SUC Conducts a Drug Awareness Seminar

Drug abuse awareness is crucial now more than ever for the protection of the new generation from addiction. Skyline University College, through its Services Committee headed by Dr. Taleb Eli, organized a Drug Awareness seminar on July 14, 2019, at SUC Multi-Purpose Hall. Key speaker, Mr. Rashed Ibrahim Al-Shihi of the Awareness and Rehabilitation section of Sharjah Police, talked about the negative impact of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities.
 
Skyline regularly organizes drug awareness seminars and is active in supporting anti-drug campaigns as part of its goal of improving society through education.

Senior Farewell Party 2019

The Skyline community gathered on July 9, 2019, at the Multipurpose Hall to bid their farewell to the seniors. The Events Committee prepared various activities to make the night memorable for the graduating Skyliners. The venue was filled with mixed emotions as students reminisced about their life-changing experience at the university.

Seniors, always remember that the “GOOD” in goodbye is a promise of something better! As you take your new road, the entire Skyline community wishes you success. Make us all proud as you enter a new chapter.

SUC’s SCTDA Workshop

The tourism sector has strong links to economic growth. It creates opportunities for employment and career advancement. On that note, SUC creates a platform for professionals to acquire knowledge and skills relevant to the industry through workshops.

SUC’s Tourism industry experts, Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Professor and SUC’s Director of Outreach and Accreditation Planning Committee, and Dr. Mohit Vij, Associate Professor, conducted a workshop on Edu-Tourism and its potential in Sharjah. The participants shared new ideas and insights about the industry and emerging trends. This session, which is part of a series of workshops on travel and tourism, welcomed participants from Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).
