This issue of Skyline Business Journal (SBJ) is the last that I am editing; the Journal is all set for a new odyssey, with a new team at the helm. It has been a wonderful journey for me having been associated with the journal from its inception as a member of the editorial board for the first issue in the fall of academic year 2004-05 and later taking over as the editor-in-chief in the fall of academic year 2008-09. The opening sentence of my first editori al in April 2009 included the oft-quoted phrase, 'change is the only constant', and change it is, yet another time, when a third phase of the journal begins its onward march from the next issue of 2019. We started as a multi-dimensional business and management journal filling a gap, severely felt by the academic community of the Gulf region, with two issues per academic year. Initially the journal attracted more locally produced articles which slowly but steadily grew to have contributions from around the region, continent and even beyond. To attract quality over quantity the number of issues per annum was cut down to one and efforts to further enhance its visibility led us to get it enlisted in prestigious data bases such as EBSCO and CENGAGE. The shape and size of the physical journal too went through a metamorphosis, from being plain-Jane to gracefully-gorgeous !All this was accomplished by a dedicated team of editorial board members, reviewers and advisors that got associated with the journal from all over the world. I will be failing in my duty as the editor-in-chief if I do not mention here the contribution of my team, more importantly the associate editor Dr. Shanmugan Joghee, who relentlessly worked for improving the quality of the journal and in constantly getting research papers reviewed, having to deal with both constraints of time and anxiety of authors. Well done Shanmugan, and rest of the team including Dr. Manoj Kumar who has been managing the journal during the current transitional period to achieve a smooth change-over. Each and every one associated with the journal from the very beginning deserves kudos, for contributing immensely to bring SBJ to where it stands today, with an identity and stature of its own.
Coming to the current issue; it contains six research papers and one book review, contribut ed from countries as varied as Nigeria, Ethiopia, Oman, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. The theme of papers ranges from organizational behavior, corporate governance and finance to on.line purchase of airline tickets, frugal innovation and crowdsourcing. With a rigorous process of double blind peer review, the papers included in the issue certainly contribute to the body of business and management knowledge and I am sure, will have wide appeal, both for the academia as well as industry.
I wish SBJ and the new team all the very best, to carry forward the good work started fifteen years ago with the inspiration of Mr. Kamal Puri the Founder President of Skyline University College and Patron of the Journal, and urge readers to continue their love and support for our efforts to add value to the higher education academia in the country and region.
