Dr. Osman Khan, a management expert catering to Fortune 500 and FTSE 50 companies, gave a talk on the Emerging Trends in Developing Strategies at SUC on October 3, 2019. His talk was delivered to the Strategic Management class of Dr. Ramakrishna Yamanandra.
Dr. Khan won the prestigious Times Higher Education Award for the Best International Strategy. Apart from teaching at leading business schools he has published four books at the European Centre for Best Practice Management.
The talk was part of the Guest Lecture initiative of SUC to expose students to industry experts and leaders who can teach and inspire them.

Skyline employees were buzzing with excitement during the Happy Hour: Spelling Bee Competition last Thursday. The activity tested the staff’s competency in spelling and vocabulary and brought fun to the workplace.
The Human Resource Department (HRD) organizes the weekly Happy Hour activity to cultivate a culture of camaraderie in the Skyline community and strengthen collaboration between employees.

The One Day Tour Guide Renewal Training Program of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) was conducted at Skyline University College on September 21, 2019. The training was conducted by Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, Director for Outreach and Accreditation, and Dr. Mohit Vij, Associate Professor. The training concluded with a site visit at the Heart of Sharjah.
The SCTDA One Day Tour Guide Renewal Training Program is designed to refresh and update the knowledge of the existing tour guides about the emirate of Sharjah to renew their license and promote Sharjah as tourist destination.
A new semester is a chance for a fresh start, and starting with energy and enthusiasm is the goal of SUC’s Human Resource Department when it organized a volleyball match for its Thursday Happy Hour, a weekly activity to boost engagement and nurture the spirit of camaraderie among employees.

Skyline University College cultivates a lifelong learning mindset in students. It encourages them to pursue education after their undergraduate studies. It also provides workshops to develop their skills so they can thrive in the globalized world.
Recently, SUC held a Pocket MBA at the campus for its alumni and graduating students to enhance their skills and equip them with knowledge on the emerging trends in management, investment decisions, and techniques for optimal allocation of resources. SUC faculty members Dr. Sakthivel A.M., Dr. Ramakrishna Yanamandra, and Dr. Manuel Fernandez who conducted the workshops also introduced them to the different career opportunities open for MBA graduates
Being happy and engaged at work matter. For the Human Resource Department (HRD) of Skyline, keeping employees engaged and happy plays a valuable role in the overall success of the university. As part of its employee engagement programs, HRD took the employees on a cruising adventure last Thursday where they enjoyed the best view of Dubai’s skyline and got the chance to socialize and build camaraderie.
The SUC also hosted a party for the August birthday celebrants where everyone enjoyed food and dancing.

Skyline University College (SUC) established a knowledge partnership with Shoolini University, India, which was made official through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing on August 27, 2019, in India. The MOU establishes cooperation in research, education, and culture between the educators and students of the two universities.
Professor Prem Kumar Khosla, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Amitabh Upadhya, SUC Director of Outreach and Accreditation, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. This MOU signing was initiated by Dr. Upadhya with the assistance of SUC’s Corporate Affairs Office (CAO) headed by Mr. Rasheed Muhammad Khalid.
In line with its goal of preparing students to be ready for the technology-driven future, Skyline University College has organized “To Change the Gear” workshop. This workshop is part of SUC’s CSR initiatives to equip the young generation with knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the world which is becoming more interconnected.
On July 29, Dr.Ramakrishna and Dr. Sakthivel gave sessions on Emerging Trends in Operations & Marketing and Dr. Deepak Kalra gave the second session on Block Chain Technologies and Internet of Things. The Event concluded with the certificate distribution to the participants.

Skyline University College focuses on employee engagement and well-being. On that note, the Sports Department, headed by Mr. Sanjay Benjamin, organized a sports fest for the employees on July 17, 2019. The faculty and staff competed in various sports — table tennis, carom, chess, billiards, target shooting, skipping competition, and tug of war.
By regularly organizing activities that boost awareness of being physically and mentally fit, employee engagement, Skyline cultivates the spirit of unity among employees and promotes teamwork.
