TEC Organized an INJAZ Workshop on “Personal Finance”

INJAZ delivers experiential volunteer based programs in Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy to the youth. On June 24, 2019, in partnership with AI Etihad Credit Bureau (AECB), an INJAZ workshop on “Personal Finance” was organized by the Teaching Effectiveness Committee (TEC), headed by Dr. Sakthivel A.M., to give students the knowledge and skills they need to plan for their professional development and help them make smart academic and economic choices.

SUC Organized Workshop for Students from Radiant School

 Skyline University College organized a 2-day workshop on “Careers Choice” and “Emotional Intelligence” for Students of Radiant School on June 23 and June 24, 2019.

Faculty members and academic support members encourage the students to work hard for their dreams. They also shared inspiring stories and valuable tips that can help the students plan their future.

SUC Fire Drill

Skyline University College conducted a fire drill to demonstrate the readiness of an emergency response plan on May 28, 2019. The students, faculty, and staff were lead to the fire exits of the building and instructed in the proper use of fire safety equipment.

10th Skyline Alumni Lecture

During the 10th Alumni Lecture, Ms. Nour Al Moukaden (batch 2011), Business Development Director, gave an insightful discussion on passion and how it can guide you to achieve success. Skyline’s Alumni Lecture Series is a platform for Skyliners who are now working in various sectors to share their perspectives and experiences of the professional world.

SUC Holds Iftar for Employees, Students, Alumni, and Parents

To celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, Skyline University College organized Iftar for its employees, alumni, students, and parents on May 22, 2019. Guests of different nationalities and religions gathered together and share a sumptuous dinner. Holding Iftar at the campus is a yearly tradition at Skyline as a way for the management to show its appreciation to its employees, alumni, students and their parents and also to strengthen the spirit of giving and sharing in Skyline community.

Career Guidance Activity

The Hilton Group recently held a career guidance activity at Skyline campus. Students learned the techniques of writing an effective resume at the resume building workshop conducted by the group. They also learned some tips on how to make a great impression during job interviews.

This career guidance activity is regularly organized by Skyline Corporate Affairs Office, headed by Mr. Mohammad Rasheed Khalid, as part of Skyline’s goal of giving students full support during their career planning and placement preparation. Skyline invites professionals from various industries for these workshops so students are exposed to various perspectives and strategies that can prepare them for the corporate world.

Skyline Holds Annual Iftar for Sharjah Laborers

This Year of Tolerance, Skyline University , through its Services Committee headed by Dr. Taleb Eli, organized an Iftar for Sharjah laborers. The laborers along with SUC students, faculty, and staff shared a hearty meal. The employees and students also distributed goodie bags to the laborers.

Employees and students of Skyline from diverse nationality and religion worked together to organize the event, reflecting the values emphasized by the UAE government in the Year of Tolerance. Annually, Skyline organizes Iftar as part of its CSR initiatives.

HR Seminar by Students

To enhance students’ abilities and skills, and to prepare them for the professional world, the faculty of Skyline University Colleges lets students organize activities and seminars. Recently, the students taking Human Resource Management course under Dr. Mona Sinha were given an opportunity to organize an HR seminar.

The activities commenced with an inspirational talk delivered by the Head of Academics for the School of Business, Dr. Ajith Kumar. Faculty members Ms. Owen Sanchez and Dr. Hesham Sheikh shared their insights, knowledge, and first-hand experiences in Re-Engineering Approach on Human Resource Management. The students also learned the trends and the latest news about HR and how it becomes a strategic partner to any business. Dr. Sharon Mendoza guided the students throughout the seminar.

According to the students, they learned a lot from the seminar. “It was a very great experience for us and we got to learn much during this seminar and a big thank you to our professors and to Skyline University College for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to organize an event,” says Skyliner Abida.

Skyline Hosts Suhoor for Its Strategic Alliances and Partners

In commemoration of the holy month of Ramadan, strengthen the spirit of community, and express its gratitude to the organizations and the people who have put their faith in the university’s vision, mission, and goals, Skyline University College hosted Suhoor for business associates, diplomats, government officials, corporates, and friends from the media at Al Majlis Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai on May 11, 2019, where guests enjoyed true Arabian hospitality and indulged in Middle-Eastern cuisine and music.

Some of the distinguished guests of the night were Consul General of Sri Lanka, H.E. Charitha Yattogoda; Consul General of the Republic of India, H.E. Vipul; Consul General of Ghana, H.E. Samata Gifty Bukari; and Consul General of Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Amjad Ali; Consul General of South Africa H.E. Mr Mogobo David Magabe; Consul General and Head of Mission at Consulate General of Denmark, H.E. Jens Alsbirk; Consul General of Indonesia, H.E. Arzaf F. Firman, Consul General of Nigeria, H.E. Abu S. Mohammed; and Head of International Relations in Palestinian Consulate, Ms. Amnah Al Hamadi; Also present were leaders from various industries such as the CEO of Sharjah Technology Park Center H.E. Hussain Al Mahmoudi and government officials including the Director of International Relations - Ministry of Economy, Mr. Sultan Darwish; the Director of Training in the Government of Umm al Quwain Executive Council, Mr. Bassam Naser; The Office Manager of H.E. the Chief Commander of Umm Al Quwain Police, First Colonel Khalifa al Shamsi; the Deputy Director of Ajman Police Operation Department, First Colonel Khalid al Nuaimi; and the Office Manager of Sheikha Boudour Al Qasimi, Ms. Thuria Al Sabri.

Skyline Hosted InterSchool Debate in Partnership with Filipino Times and the Philippine Consulate

Six schools competed for the Interschool Debate organized by The Filipino Times and the Philippine Consulate General for Dubai and the Northern Emirates and held at Skyline University College today.

The participating schools include Al Alfiah Filipino Private School, New Filipino Private School, The Philippine School Dubai, United International Private School, as well as two campuses of Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahbah and Al Azra).

The Philippine School, Dubai emerged as the winner and Far Eastern Private School – Al Azra was ranked 2nd. The Interschool Debate showcased the intellectual prowess of students through public speaking.
