A fun celebration of the World Teachers’ Day took place today, October 5, 2017, at Skyline University College to pay tribute to all our faculty members for their hard work and to celebrate their undying passion in teaching.
A General Courses Guest Lecture was conducted to sophomore students taking up Introduction to Humanities under the class of Dr. Taleb Eli, last September 27th 2017. Invited guest lecturer, Ms. Daawy Tayeb is an Emirati Writer who has written a good number of short stories and the author of “From the Capital with Love.” Ms. Daawy talked about “Creativity through Fiction Writing” in her lecture where students learned some techniques and styles of writing.
The guest lecture was organized by SUC faculty Dr. Taleb Eli.

Skyline University College Community Services Committee headed by Dr. Mohammad Abdul Salam has organized Drug Awareness Seminar as part of SUC’s CSR activities to its students, faculty and staff today, July 11, 2017 at SUC campus. The committee has invited officials from Sharjah Police to give a seminar on the current trends and awareness about drug use and their implications on the career and well-being of a person.
The Drug Awareness Seminar is being held annually at Skyline University College and under the initiative of SUC Community Services Committee.
Skyline University College Associate Professor and Chair of Teaching Effectiveness Committee Dr. Mohit Vij has recently participated at the 3rd Global Tourism and Hospitality Conference organized by Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong on June 5-7, 2017. Dr. Mohit presented his findings of the study on, Residents’ Perceptions towards a Mega Event: A Case of Dubai World Expo 2020. “The results of the study focused on the importance of taking residents in confidence for organizing any successful event. So far UAE residents look quite positive towards World Expo 2020, however, need of the hour is to establishing and communicating few tangible gains to the residents, out of the event enabling them to get involved in a better way," Dr. Mohit enthused. The 3-day conference witnessed rounds of academic deliberation made by academicians and practitioners from all over the world.
Skyline University College Services Committee has initiated a Ramadan Community Service entitled “Ramadan Trainers’ Training” to Kabayan Non-Profit Organization (KNPO) — a group professional volunteers who teach their expertise to the Filipino Community. The second program was an intensive Excel Class conducted by SUC Associate Professor Dr. Riktesh Srivastava on June 9, 2017 at SUC campus. The Ramadan Trainers’ Training coordinator is SUC Assistant Professor Dr. Sharon Mendoza-Dreisbach with SUC Services Committee coordinator Associate Professor Dr. Mahesh Agnihotri. The workshops are conducted as part of the CSR activities of SUC.
In this holy month of Ramadan, Skyline University College Community Services Committee has organized an Iftar Dinner followed by a cricket match played by Sharjah laborers under the floodlights of SUC cricket ground on June 7, 2017. This annual event is organized in line with SUC’s commitment in taking part in UAE’s Year of Giving that extends to all people regardless of social background. Through SUC’s conscious effort to promote social awareness and responsible social involvement, this event has brought together the laborer guests in a traditional Iftar dinner to break the fast of the day.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan has organized a Composition Contest on the topic “What do I Know about Azerbaijan?” in partnership with Skyline University College. Vice Counsel of Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Ayan Aliyeva attended the prize distribution ceremony to award the winner of the competition on June 4, 2017 at SUC campus. SUC BBA student Athar Nazir bagged the award against 15 other SUC students who took part in the composition-writing contest. A certificate was awarded along with national souvenirs and gifts.
